Originally from Minnesota, James is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego and Brooklyn Law School. A computer enthusiast since the Web’s early days, he first became interested in the law as it began to interact with the Internet. That interest has developed into the practice of both consumer and Internet-related law. In addition to the law, his interests include language and linguistics, Japanese animation, and New Urbanism.
James is admitted to the bars of New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia, and to the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
His pro bono service to indigent clients in Brooklyn has been repeatedly recognized by the Brooklyn Bar Association and by the New York State Bar Association‘s Empire State Counsel® program.
James is a member of multiple bar associations, including the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
